Dimensions:
    Flower: 5/8-1" (16-25 mm) wide
    Plant height: Aquatic; 1-4' (30-120 cm)
    above water

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: West sites, marshes, edges of streams and lakes

Description: White flowers in whorls of 3 atop spreading flower stocks rising from large basal leaves. Flowers have 3 petals, 3 re-curved to spreading sepals, and 20-40 yellow stamens. Leaves vary from very broadly to very narrowly arrow-shaped (thus the flower's name); 2-16" (5-40 cm) long; un-lobed to lobed with 2 long, opposite-facing lobes. Water Plantain family. (August 2)
