Small White Aster

Common name: Small White Aster

Scientific name: Aster vimineus

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/4-1/2" (6-12 mm) wide
  Plant height: 1-5' (30-150 cm)

Blooming period: August-October

Habitat: Fields, meadows, moist open places

Description: Small, crowded white flowers with a yellowish to pinkish central disk clustered on open, long, often arching branches; flowers tend to be on one side of the branch (secund). Leaves up to 4 1/2" (11.5 cm) long, linear to narrowly lance- shaped (lanceolate), stalkless (sessile); entire or slightly toothed; with smaller leaflets in the leaf axils. Aster family. (September 27)
