White Wood Aster

Common name: White Wood Aster

Scientific name: Aster divaricatus

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/4-1" (2-2.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: July-October

Habitat: Dry open woods, clearings

Description: White flowers in a flattish cluster on often zigzag stems. Rays 6-10 surrounding yellow to bronzy-purple central disk. Bracts whitish with green tips. Lower stem leaves 2-7" (5-17.5 cm) long, stalked, heart-shaped, coarsely toothed. Aster family. (September 8)
