Common name: Whorled Aster
Mountain Aster, Sharp-leaved Aster

Scientific name: Aster acuminatus

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1-1½" (2.5-3.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 8-32" (20-80 cm)

Blooming period: July-October

Habitat: Moist or dry woods

Description: Several to many white or purple- tinged flowers on flat-topped panicles. Downy stem may be zigzag and reddish at base. Leaves in irregular whorls, elliptic or oval, broader at the tip, coarsely toothed. Aster family. (August 22)
