Scientific name: Gium aleppicum

Dimensions:

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Wet meadows, thickets, swamps

Description: Bright yellow flowers grow individually on stout stalks near the top of the plant; 5 widely spaced somewhat heart- shaped petals equal or slightly longer than sepals; 10 or more stamens surround cone- shaped central disk. Leaves highly variable, but leaflets or lobes mostly egg-shaped or oblong, web-shaped or triangular at the base; leaflets mostly deeply and sharply cut. Lower leaves long-stalked. Principal leaflets mixed with minute leaflets. Stem somewhat hairy. Rose family. (June 19)
