Common name: Yellow Bedstraw

Scientific name: Galium verum

Dimensions:
  Flower: About 1/8" (4 mm) wide
  Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: June-September

Habitat: Roadsides and fields

Description: Fragrant, bright yellow 4-lobed flowers in dense terminal clusters on stiff stems. Leaves in whorls of 8-12, ¾-1½" (1.5-4 cm) long, linear, 1-nerved, shiny and usually hairy on top, dense minute hairs under. Stems roundly 4-angled, usually with minute, soft, curled hairs (puberulent). Bedstraw family. (June 22)
