Common name: Creeping Bellflower (Rover Bellflower)

Scientific name: Campanula rapunculoides

Dimensions:
  Flower: ¾-1¼" (2-3 cm) long
  Plant height: 12-36" (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Lawns, roadsides, weedy places

Description: Numerous nodding violet-blue bell-shaped flowers bloom from the bottom up in spikes primarily on one side of plant stem. Each flower has 5 lobes, narrowly oval sepals, and a straight white style. Alternate leaves, 2-4" (5-10 cm) long, are oval or narrowly oval with an irregularly toothed margin. Plant spreads by creeping runners. Escape from cultivation. Native of Eurasia. Bellflower family. (June 30)
