Scientific name: Rudbeckia hirta

Dimensions:
    Flower: 2-3" (5-7.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: June-October

Habitat: Fields, open woods, weedy places and
roadsides

Description: Large, single, showy golden-yellow flower head on single slender stem. Numerous (10-20) daisy-like rays surround a cone-shaped, chocolate-colored central disk. Leaves and stem very bristly-hairy. Leaves 2-7" (5-17.5 cm) long, lanceolate to ovate, slightly toothed or un-toothed. Aster family. (June 15)
