Blue-eyed Grass

Common name: Blue-eyed Grass

Scientific name: Sisyrinchium augustifolium

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2" (1.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 4-20" (10-50 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Meadows, open woods, shorelines

Description: Small violet-blue flowers with
yellow centers on top of long, flat, twisted
stalks just below a pointed bract. Three petal-
like sepals with pointed tip; 3 petals. Leaves
4-20" (10-50 cm) long, less than 1/4" (6 mm)
wide, basal, linear, grass-like of varying length.
