Common name: Bluets

Scientific name: Houstonia caerulea

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2" (31.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 3-6" (7.5-15 cm)

Blooming period: April-June

Habitat: Hillsides and fields, thickets, lawns

Description: Low plant with thin stalks on
which set pale blue flowers with golden
yellow centers. Tubular corolla with 4
flattish petal-shaped lobes. Leaves at base
up to 1/2" (1.5 cm) long mostly at base but
with several pairs of very small stem leaves.
