Scientific name: Ajuga reptans

Dimensions:
  Flower: ½" (1.5 cm) long
  Plant height: 4-12" (10-30 cm)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Lawns and roadsides

Description: Powder-blue flowers in a leafy erect spike on hairy stems; the stamens project beyond the very short upper lip. Leaves often coppery or purplish, 1-2½" (2.5-6.5 cm) long, oval or round, bluntly toothed, hairless; upper- most leaves shorter than flowers. Plants spread by creeping stems on the ground's surface (stolons) forming loose mats. Native of Eurasia, escaped from cultivation. Mint family. (June 5)
