Common name: Bunchberry

Scientific name: Cornus canadensis

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1-2" (2.5-5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 3-8" (7.5-20 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Cool woods and damp openings at all elevations including alpine zone

Description: Terminal cluster of tiny, yellowish-green flowers surrounded by 4 petal-like white bracts. Whorled main leaves just below flower heads 1½-3" (4-7.5 cm) long, ovate, short-stalked, pointed at both ends; leaf veins prominent, curve into an arc. Dogwood family. (June 13)
