Common name: Canada Hawkweed

Scientific name: Hieracium kalmii

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1" (2.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 1-5' (30-150 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Borders of woods, thickets, clearings

Description: Largish yellow blossoms in loose, flat-topped clusters, sometimes solitary; 40-100 rays. Leaves 1-4½" (2.5-11.5 cm) long, sessile, toothed, numerous on white-hairy stems; elliptic, oval or oblong, upper leaves may slightly clasp stem. Aster family. (September 5)
