Scientific name: Maianthemum canadense

Dimensions:
    Flower: About 1/8" (4 mm) long
    Plant height: 2-6" (5-15 cm)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Moist woods and shady areas,

Description: Tiny white star-shaped flowers in a small terminal cluster on a short stem, each flower having 2 petals, 2 petal-like sepals, and 4 stamens. Two to three alternating ovate leaves are heart-shaped at the base, 1-3" (2.5-7.5 cm) long, and clasp the stem. Berry turns red in fall. Lily family. (May 31)
