Mountain White Cinquefoil

Common name: Mountain White Cinquefoil
(Three-toothed Cinquefoil)

Scientific name: Potentilla tridentata
(Sibbaldiopsis tridentata)


Dimensions:
  Flower: ¼-½" (1-1.5 cm) wide
  Plant height: 4-12" (10-30 cm)

Blooming period: June-September

Habitat: Rocky shores, open summits, alpine areas

Description: Several white flowers on flat terminal clusters on branching stems; 5 pointed sepals; 5 bracts; many stamens. Evergreen leaves mostly near the base composed of 3 leaflets, each ½-1" (1-2.5 cm) long, narrowly oval, wider near the blunt, 3-toothed tip. Rose family. (June 22)
