Common name: Rough Cinquefoil (Strawberry Weed)

Scientific name: Potentilla norvegica

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/8"-3/8" (9-15 mm) wide
  Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: June-August

Habitat: Thickets, clearings, roadsides, weedy places

Description: Several to many terminal, yellow flowers with 5 rounded petals and 5 sepals slightly longer than petals. Plant has stout, hairy stem. Comp und leaves with 3 leaflets alternating from the stalk; leaflets elliptic to ovate up to 3" (7.5 cm) long, toothed. Plant appears like a yellow-flowered strawberry but much taller. Rose family.
