Common name: Common Barberry

Scientific name: Berberis vulgaris

Dimensions:
    Flower: About 1/4" (6 mm) wide
    Plant height: 3-10' (90-300 cm)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Pastures, thickets, fencerows

Description: Small yellow flowers in drooping, many-flowered clusters; 6 sepals, 6 petals, each with 2 glandular spots inside. Leaves 1-3" (2.5-7.5 cm) long, bristly-toothed, clustered. Stems spiny. Barberry family. (May 24)
