Scientific name: Veronica officinalis

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/8-1/4" (3-5 mm) wide
    Plant height: Creeper; ascending tips
    2-10"(5-25 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Dry fields and open woods

Description: Clusters of lilac or lavender flowers in spike-like clusters rising from leaf axils of trailing, hairy-stemmed plant. Flowers have 4 striped, united petals, 2 stamens. Leaves 3/4-2" (2-5 cm) long, opposite, oval, sharply-toothed and short-stalked. Figwort family. (June 16)
