Scientific name: Centaurea cyanus

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/8-1/2" (1-1.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 1-4' (30-120 cm)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Roadsides, fields, weedy areas

Description: Usually deep bright blue, may
also be pink or white. Marginal florets
simulate rays on flower head that terminates
the grooved stems. Leaves are narrow, often
linear, toothless, toothed, or lobed, 5" (12.5 cm)
or less long. Composite family. (May 29)
