Scientific name: Polygonum lapathifolium

Dimensions:
    Flower: About 1/8 " (4 mm) wide
    Plant height: 1-6' (30-180 cm)

Blooming period: July-October

Habitat: Fields, weedy ground, damp places

Description: Numerous dense, slender or oblong spikes of tiny; greenish-white or pinkish flowers in erect or sprawling plants; spikes 1/2-3" (1.5-7.5 cm) long, bent. Leaves 4-8" (10-20 cm) long, commonly narrowly oval; leaf stalk 3/8-3/4" (1-2 cm) long. Smartweed family. (August 2)
