Common name: Common Enchanter's Nightshade

Scientific name: Circaea lutetiana

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/8"-1/4" (3-6 mm) wide
  Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: June-August

Habitat: Shady rich or moist woods

Description: Small white well-spaced flowers on 3-10" (7.5-25 cm) tall elongated terminal clusters (racemes); 2 deeply-cleft petals appearing as 4 petals; 2 reflexed sepals; 2 stamens. Leaves 2½-5" (6.5-12.5 cm) long, dark green, oblong or oval, opposite, shallowly and irregularly toothed. Evening primrose family. (July 29)
