Scientific name: Aquilegia vulgaris

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1"-2" (2.5-5 cm) long
    Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Roadsides, fields

Description: Native of Eurasia that escaped
from cultivation. Flowers blue, varying to purple, white or pink. Stamens not longer than sepals; spurs short and thick, curve over rear of flower. Compound leaves composed of three leaflets roundly scalloped or lobed. Buttercup family. (June 23)
