Scientific name: Prenanthes trifoliata

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2-3/4" (1.5-2 cm) long
    Plant height: 1-5' (30-150 cm)

Blooming period: August-September

Habitat: Rich woods, thickets

Description: Creamy-white nodding flowers heads clustered on smooth, waxy-reddish stem; 8-12 rays, prominent stamens. Bracts purplish or pale green with tiny white waxy dots, sometimes with black spots. Lower leaves long- stalked, lobed, usually in 3 segments; upper leaves single, lobed. A dwarf variety (mana) found on alpine summits. Composite family. (August 15)
