Common name: Common Flat-topped Goldenrod (Lance-leaved Goldenrod)

Scientific name: Euthamia graminifolia

Dimensions:
  Flower: Heads 1/8" (4 mm) long
  Plant height: 1-4' (30-120 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Damp places, roadsides, thickets, stream banks

Description: Yellow flower heads on flat- topped branching clusters (panicles). Flowers have 15-25 petal-like rays, 5-10 disk flowers. Rays very small and often only partially spreading. Leaves 1-6" (2.5-15 cm) long, narrowly lance-shaped, toothless (entire), with 3-5 parallel veins; often dotted with dark resin spots. Aster family. (August 24)
