Common name: New England Goldenrod (Alpine Goldenrod)

Scientific name: Solidago cutleri

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/8"-3/8" (3-9 mm) wide
  Plant height: 2-14" (5-35 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Rocky, alpine areas

Description: Small, yellow composite flower heads in axillary clusters and a terminal cluster on a short, angled stem; 30-50 flowers per head surrounded by 10-13 rays. Leaves mostly near base, lance-shaped but broader toward tip and tapering at the base (oblanceolate), or spoon- shaped (spatulate) to elliptic; ¾-6" (2-15 cm) long, toothed. Middle leaves not much smaller than basal. Composite family. (July 3)
