Wrinkle-leaved Goldenrod

Common name: Wrinkle-leaved Goldenrod (Rough-stemmed Goldenrod)

Scientific name: Solidago rugosa

Dimensions:
  Flower: Heads about 1/8" (4 mm) long
  Plant height: 1-6' (30-180 cm)

Blooming period: July-October

Habitat: Fields, meadows, roadsides, woodsides

Description: Small, light yellow flower heads mostly on upper side of arching branches extending in different directions at top of plant. Flowers have 6-11 petal-like rays, 4-8 disk flowers. Leaves 1½-5" (4-12.5 cm) long, elliptic to oval, rough, sharply-toothed, very hairy and wrinkled; feather-veined. Branches and stem hairy to densely hairy. Often has an elm-like shape. Aster family.
