Common name: Running Groundsel (Round-leaved Ragwort)

Scientific name: Senecio obovatus

Dimensions:
  Flower: ¾-1¼" (2-3 cm) wide
  Plant height: 6-18" (15-45 cm)

Blooming period: April-June

Habitat: Rich woods, rocky outcrops, bogs

Description: Several to many golden-yellow flower heads on long stalks in branched, terminal clusters. Flower disk ¼-½" (6-14 mm) wide; rays ¼-?" (5-10 mm) long. Basal leaves narrowly egg-shaped, alternate, usually finely toothed, wider above middle, rounded at the tip and tapering to the leaf stalk. Considered endangered in New Hampshire. Aster family.
