Common name: Panicled Hawkweed

Scientific name: Hieracium paniculatum

Dimensions:
  Flower: About ½" (1.5 cm) wide
  Plant height: 1-4' (30-120 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Dry open woods

Description: Small yellow blossoms on very slender stalks widely spreading, or drooping horizontally, from the main stalk. Leaves 1½-4½" (4-12 cm) long, nearly hairless, slightly toothed, elliptic, ascend the stem. Lower leaves stalked (petiolate), surfaces pale; upper un-stalked (sessile). Aster family. (August 21)
