Common name: Hemp-nettle

Scientific name: Galeopsis tetrahit

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/8-1" (9-25 mm) long
    Plant height: 8-24" (20-60 cm)

Blooming period: June-September

Habitat: Fields, roadsides, weedy places

Description: White or pale magenta flowers in dense whorls on terminal clusters; flowers hairy, lower lip striped with purple; humps at base of lower lip. Stem bristly-hairy and swollen below the joints. Leaves diamond shaped or egg shaped, 1¼-4" (3-10 cm) long, toothed, long stalked. Mint family. (September 5)
