Highbush Blueberry

Common name: Highbush Blueberry (Swamp Blueberry)

Scientific name: Vaccinium corymbosum

Dimensions:
  Flower: ¼-½" (6-13 mm) long
  Plant height: 3-15' (1-4.5 m)

Blooming period: May-June (fruit June to August)

Habitat: Swamps, pastures, dry upland woods

Description: Clusters of small, bell-shaped white or pinkish flowers on green or reddish twigs; flower corolla with 5 teeth. Leaves narrowly ovate or elliptical, 1½-3" (4-7.5 cm) long, toothless, smooth on top, somewhat hairy underneath. Heath family. (May 17)
