Common name: Jack-in-the-pulpit
(Indian Turnip)

Scientific name: Arisaema triphyllum

Dimensions:
    Flower: Green or purple hooded
    spathe ("pulpit"), arches over spadix
    ("Jack) 2-3" (5-7.5 cm) long with
    separate, tiny flowers at base
    Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: late May-August

Habitat: Damp woods, swamps, thickets

Description: One or two long-stalked,
divided leaves; 3 leaflets, middle one elliptic
to diamond-shaped, the others asymmetric.
Arum family. (May 18)
