Common name: Lance-leaved Coreopsis

Scientific name: Coreopsis lanceolata

Dimensions:
    Flower: 2-2½" (5-6.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 1-2' (30-60 cm)

Blooming period: May-August

Habitat: Sandy or rocky soil, disturbed areas and roadsides

Description: Yellow, daisy-like flower heads with 8 rays, each having 3-5 distinct deep lobes at the tip; disk flowers are numerous. Leaves are lance-shaped, lower or basal ones 3-6" (7.5-15 cm) long, short- stalked, entire or with 1 or 2 lobes at the base. Aster family. (July 5)
