Scientific name: Scutellaria galericulata

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/4-1" (2-2.5 cm) long
    Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Wet meadows, marshy areas

Description: Single blue and white flowers often growing side-by-side from axils of opposite leaves. The 2-lipped flowers are on short stalks; the upper lip forms the "skullcap" over the broader, bluish-white lower lip. Leaves 1/2-3" (1.5-7.5 cm) long, narrowly oblong or oval, pointed, toothed, and tapering to a short- stalked or stalk-less base. Mint family. (August 8)
