Scientific name: Rosa multiflora

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/4-1½" (2-4 cm) wide
    Plant height: 6-15' (1.8-4.5 m)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Fields, woods, roadsides, moist thickets

Description: Many white, occasionally pink, fragrant flowers in clusters on arching stems; 5 lanceolate, sharply-tipped sepals; 5 petals; numerous stamens and pistils. Stems covered with flattened curved thorns. Leaves pinnately compound, divided into 6-10 elliptic or oval leaflets, toothed, about 1" (2.5 cm) long; stipules fringed. Escape from cultivation. Rose family. (June 20)
