Northern Bush Honeysuckle

Common name: Northern Bush Honeysuckle

Scientific name: Diervilla lonicera

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2-3/4" (1.5-2 cm) long
    Plant height: 1-5' (30-150 cm)

Blooming period: June-July

Habitat: Woodlands, dry rocky soils

Description: Yellow, funnel-shaped flowers, usually in clusters of 3 but 1-5; corolla tubular with 5 lobes that point backward; flowers grow from axils or at the ends of spreading branches. Simple leaves egg-shaped, 2-5" (5-12.5 cm) long, opposite, stalked, minutely toothed. Flowers turn red with age. Honeysuckle family. (June 17)
