Common name: Pearly Everlasting

Scientific name: Anaphalis margaritacea

Dimensions:
    Flower: About 1/4" (6 mm) wide
    Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Dry pastures, roadsides, weedy places

Description: Flat clusters of white globular, ray-less flower heads on cottony stem; petal- like pearly white bracts arranged around the yellow staminate center. Leaves 3-5" (7.5-12.5 cm) long, alternate, linear or nearly so, gray-green above, woolly-white under. Aster family. (August 24)
