Common name: Field Penny-cress

Scientific name: Thlaspi arvense

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/8" (3 mm) wide
  Plant height: 4-20" (10-50 cm)

Blooming period: April-September

Habitat: Roadsides, weedy places, fields

Description: Tiny white flowers on a somewhat elongated cluster, flowering from the bottom up (racemose inflorescence). Stem leaves 1-1/2" (2.5-4 cm) long, oblong or narrowly oval, with a few teeth or toothless, slightly clasping. Lower leaves oval, stalked. Fruit spherical or broadly elliptic, 3/8-5/8" (1-1.5 cm) wide, deeply notched, slightly winged, each pod with 4 seeds. Mustard family. (May 22)
