Common name: Pineapple-weed

Scientific name: Matricaria matricarioides

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/4-3/8" (6-9 mm) wide
  Plant height: 2-16" (5-40 cm)

Blooming period: June-September

Habitat: Roadsides, weedy places

Description: Several to many yellow flowers in ray-less heads at ends of branches; disk cone-shaped. A somewhat sprawling plant with deeply lobed leaves finely cut into linear segments 1-3 times. Plant gives off pineapple odor when bruised. Plants we've seen rarely over 8" (20 cm) tall. Aster family. (July 18)
