Scientific name: Ligustrum vulgare

Dimensions:
  Flower: About ¼" (5 mm) wide;   corolla tube length also ¼" (5   mm)
  Plant height: 6-15' (2-5 meters)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Thickets and roadsides

Description: Small, perfect, white 4-lobed flowers in dense branching clusters (panicles); flowers are tubular with 4 spreading or recurved lobes; 2 stamens; filaments mostly within the flower or slightly protruding. Leaves 1-2" (2.5-5 cm) long, mostly lance- shaped or oblong, entire, opposite. Twigs with minute soft hairs. A native of Europe, escaped from cultivation. Olive family. (May 29)
