Common name: Rounded Shinleaf

Scientific name: Pyrola rotundifolia

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2-3/4" (1.5-2 cm) wide
    Plant height: 4-10" (10-25 cm)

Blooming period: July-August

Habitat: Dry to moist woods, bogs

Description: White, nodding, waxy flowers, 3-13, on racemes; 5 rounded petals, 5 green sepals (longer than wide), protruding style. Leaves 1-3" (2.5-7.5 cm) long, shiny, broadly elliptic or round, leather-textured with smooth edges. Shinleaf family. (July 9)
