Common name: Sessile Bellwort (Wild Oats)

Scientific name: Uvularia sessilifolia

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2-1" (1.5-2.5 cm) long
    Plant height: 4-12" (10-30 cm)

Blooming period: April-June

Habitat: Woods and thickets

Description: Creamy, nodding flowers, 1 or 2, on an angled stem with sessile leaves. Flowers narrowly bell-shaped, 3 petal-like sepals, 3 petals, 6 stamens. Leaves 2-3" (5-7.5 cm) long, sessile (not surrounding stem), narrowly oval, light green above, gray-green under. Lily family. (May 10)
