Common name: Germander Speedwell (Bird's-eye Speedwell)

Scientific name: Veronica chamaedrys

Dimensions:
  Flower: ¼-½" (6-15 mm) wide
  Plant height: 4-12" (10-30 cm)

Blooming period: May-June

Habitat: Lawns, disturbed sites

Description: Purple to bluish-purple flowers on racemes rising from leaf axils; flowers stalked with 4 petals. Leaves are simple, opposite, ovate, ½-1½" (1-3.5 cm) long, sessile (stalkless), blunt, coarsely toothed. Plants hairy. Introduced from Europe. Plantain family. (May 31)
