Scientific name: Veronica longifolia

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/4" (6 mm) long
  Plant height: 12-60" (30-150 cm)

Blooming period: June-August

Habitat: Fields, roadsides, weedy places

Description: Violet flowers in long, tapering terminal spike-like clusters in which flowers open from stem end to the tip (raceme); 4-5 petals; flowers hairy in the throat. Leaves 2-6" (5-15 cm) long, narrowly oval, pointed, very sharply toothed, short-stalked. Stem and stalks short hairy. A native of Europe. Figwort family. (August 21)
