Tall Meadow Rue

Common name: Tall Meadow Rue

Scientific name: Thalictrum pubescens

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/8-3/4" (9-18 mm) wide
    Plant height: 3-8' (90-240 cm)

Blooming period: June-August

Habitat: Rich woods, wet meadows, swamps and stream banks

Description: Plumes of white petal-less flowers on rounded panicles; club-like stamens characterize the flower. Male and female flowers on same plant: female flowers with several pistils and some stamens; male flowers with many thread- like stamens. Compound leaves divided into heart-shaped or round 3-lobed leaflets each about 1" (2.5 cm) long; lower leaves are stalked, upper ones are sessile. Buttercup family. (June 20)
