Common name: Spotted Touch-me-not

Scientific name: Impatiens capensis

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1" (2.5 cm) long
    Plant height: 2 - 5 ' (60 - 125 cm)

Blooming period: July - September.

Habitat: Shaded wetlands and woods.

Description: Tall, leafy plant with spotted
cornucopia-shaped blossoms hanging from
a thin stalk Succulent stems exude juice
when broken. Ripe seedpod pops at a touch.
Leaves 1 ½- 3" (4 - 7.5 cm) long, alternate,
oval with pale underside. Touch-me-not
family. (September 1)
