Dimensions:
  Flower: 2-4" (5-10 cm) wide
  Plant height: 8-18" (20-45 cm)

Blooming period: April - June

Habitat: Rich, moist woods, thickets

Description: This is the largest of the trilliums, with large white flowers that turn pink with age; 3 green sepals; 3 large, wavy-edged petals, broader toward the tip and pointed; 6 stamens with yellow anthers. Leaves 3-6" (7.5-15 cm) long, stalkless or nearly stalkless, ovate to diamond- shaped, pointed. Trillium leaves have been eaten, but removing the leaves will kill the plant: no species of trillium should be picked. Lily family. (May 2)
