Bulbiferous Water Hemlock

Common name: Bulbiferous Water Hemlock

Scientific name: Cicula bulbifera

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/8" (3 mm) wide
  Plant height: 1-3' (30-90 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Swamps, marshes, wet places

Description: Small white flowers in compound umbels (umbrella-like clusters) each with 5-7 spokes. Umbels 1-3" (2.5-7.5 cm) wide; individual flowers with 5 rounded petals. Flowers often sparse or absent. Alternate and pinnately compound leaves divided into very slender, sparsely toothed leaflets. Small, round, green bulblets are clustered in the upper leaf axils. Plant is very poisonous. Carrot family. (July 17)
