White Beardtongue

Common name: White Beardtongue

Scientific name: Penstemon digitalis

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2-1" (1.5-2.5 cm) long
    Plant height: 2-4' (60-120 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Fields, and borders of woods

Description: Tubular, unevenly-lobed white or purple-tinged flowers with tufts of hair on one stamen. Flower tube swollen in the center. Smooth stem. Flower stalks rise from upper leaf axils. Leaves 2-6" (5-15 cm) long, narrowly oval or oblong. Snapdragon family. (June 10)
