White Sweet Clover

Common name: White Sweet Clover

Scientific name: Melilotus alba

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/4" (6 mm) long
    Plant height: 2-8' (60-240 cm)

Blooming period: June-October

Habitat: Roadsides, fields, weedy places

Description: Small white pea flowers on tall, slender tapering racemes rising from the leaf axils. Clusters up to 8" (20 cm) long. Flowers fragrant when crushed. Leaves compound, with 3 elliptic to oval leaflets each 1/2-1" (1.5- 2.5 cm) long. Tri-part leaves and shape of flowers clover-like. Pea family. (July 30)
