Common name: Wood Sorrel (Common)

Scientific name: Oxalis montana

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/4" (2 cm) wide
    Plant height: 3-6" (7.5-15 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Rich damp woods

Description: Single white or pink flowers on each of several leafless stalks rising. Flowers strongly veined with pink with 5 petals, 10 stamens and one pistil. Basal leaves clover-like with three lobes, each about 1/2" (1 cm) wide. Leaves and flowers close at night. Buckwheat family. (July 6)
